 Physical and Technical Institute named after A. F. loffe. loffe A.F. (1880-1960) - an outstanding Russian physician, one of creators of physics school, pioneer in semi-conductors research, member of The USSR Academy of Sciences, Hero of Socialistic Labor. He was the founder and the first director of Physical and Technical Institute. Institute of semi-conductors USSR Academy of Sciences ana Physical and Agronomical Institute. In 1961 he was awarded (post humousiy) a Lenin Prize. Unveiling of a memorial took place on 21 of July 1964. the architect of the project - Glickman G.D.
