Until the monument to the Tsar the Savior has been installed in St. Petersburg, there were only two monuments to Alexander II - In Helsinki and Kiev. The monument installed in the yard of Leningrad's High Military Engineering Institute is the copy of created in 1913 by sculptor Mark Antokolsky origin, situated at first in St. Petersburg's State Public Library and later on donated to Kiev's Museum of Russian Art.
The copy of that sculpture is the Ukraine's gift to St. Petersburg on its 300 Anniversary.
