Alexander Nevsky can be undoubtedly called the fun damental cause of St. Petersburg birth. Without his great victory at Tchudskoe Lake, these lands wouldn't be pertaining to Russia.
Christian Orthodox Church canonized Alexander Nevsky. He is considered to be the Petersburg's Patron. The great figure of warrior on a mighty horse is installed near the Lavra. The monument none by sculptors Kozenyuk Y.G. and Palmin A.A. and architect Popov Y.Y. was opened on 9 of May 2006
