Sculptural equestrian group "Horse's breaking".

Anichkov Bridge. Nevsky Prospect. The bronze equestrian group done by Klodt Piotr has become one of St. Petersburg's symbols and is to be an irrefutable masterpiece of world monumental plastic art and real pride of the city. Four ptastic groups reflect different stages of horse taming. The first pair of four sculptures was installed on the bridge in 1841 and since that time has left the place only once - in the years of W.W.ll. In those days the bronze sculptural group, as many others monuments of the city, was hidden in order to defend from bombing in the earth. Only in June 1945 the sculptures were taken out from ditches, which had been dug out in the Anichkov Palace garden, and returned to their places.
