Monuments to Italian architects: C.-B. Rastrelli


Manege Square.


These prominent architects - Rastrelli. Rinaldi and
Quarenghi - Italians by birth, can be considered to
be honorary citizens of St. Petersburg.
Rastrelli Carlo - Bartolommeo (1675-1744) - an
outstanding architect, during his stay in Petersburg
(1715-1744) he executed so much, but not all of his
creations enjoyed decent honour. His works can be
characterized as magnificent and gala.
With the support of itaiian Consulate and timed to
the 300 Anniversary of the city, the tronze bust of
the prominent sculptor was installed at the Manege
Square. Sculptor - Gorevoy B.E.. architect - Popov
VV The monument was opened in 2003.
