Hundreds of Botkin's contemporaries could say that they were cured thanks to that outstanding physician. Many well -known scientists with pride called themselves his disciples. He was greatly prized by M.E. Saltuckov - Shchedrin for his kindness and as a public figure. N.A. Nekrasov devoted him one chapter of his poem.
The bust done by sculptor Gintsburg I.J. was installed in 1920-th not far from the hospital bearing his name. At the black granite pedestal in gilded letters is written: "Sergey Petrovitch Botkin. 1832-1889".
