The bronze bulls, which are standing in front of meatpacking plant "Sampson", were cast in 1822 according to the project of V.I.. Demuth - Malinovsky. Initially the sculptures were placed in Tsarskoselsky prospect at the slaughter - house entry. According to local legend, once the sculptor had seen the bulls in a dream. Many years passed. In 1941 was taken a decision to bury the bronze sculptures on the grounds of Alexander - Nevsky Lavra. but it wasn't done and all the war they were situated a few steps away the cemetery, where is buried the remarkable sculptor V.I. Demuth - Malinovsky.
