Together with Marx was the leader and organizer of the First International. The bronze bust done by sculptor Yevseev S.A. and architects Shchuko V.A. and Gelfreikh V.G. was opened in July 1934. At the granite pedestal iront side is written: "F.Engels. 1823-1895".
