Monument to Philosophers who have left the countryLieutenant Schmidt Embankment, near the 9th Line.


The granite memorial slab. carried out according 10 the project of architect Saickov A., is dedicated lo deportation iron: Soviet Russia of big group of scientists and cultural workers in the autumn of 1922. On the 16 of November from Petrograd to the West were exiled more than 200 people belonging to Russian intelligentsia. Along with philosopher's gone away many economists, historians, publicists, journalists and publishers. From that time began the process of drain-away from Russia, in such a way we exerted influence on intellectual sphere in Europe and other countries, as many of the exiled people played a considerable role in development of humanitarian and economic sciences.
