Musorgsky M.P.Lermontovsky Prospect. 54. Public garden.

 

The monument to M. Musorgsky (1839-1881), Russian composer, member of "Mighty small group" circle, was opened on 21 of March 1989; the original pedestal with inscriptions is remained from 1914. Musorgsky created original folk music dramas "Boris Godunov" and "Khovanzhchina". where impressed vivid human characters. Among his works are piano and vocal circles well known among the classical music worshippers. The author of the monument -sculptor Timchenko A.R. At the pedestal there is an inscription done in carved tonic letters: "M.RMusorgsky. 29 graduating class, 1856", at the backside are listed the best - known works.
