Okhta


Okhta is one of the biggest industrial districts of St. Petersburg. Trie region was initially formed as a "working" outskirts with a big number of plants, factories and different manufacturing firms. All these influenced the contemporary look and social and cultural image of the region. Nevertheless, Okhta possesses a lot of historical places of interest, monuments and modern architectural pieces. Is worth spe cial attention the architectural layer of industrial con¬structions. The walk along the Okhta embankments with its amazing industrial red brick buildings, the beautiful berths and sculptures will add pleasant and unusual sensation of the city.
