In the garden of SRI of Experimental Medicine are several sculptural works done by sculptor Bezpalov I.P., among them the bronze bust of prominent French scientist Louis Pasteur (1822-1895). the initiator of modern microbiology and immunology. Pasteur developed the method of prophylactic vaccination against Asiatic cholera, malignant anthrax, hydrophobia, introduced new methods of antisepsis and asepsis. In 1888 he created arid headed Scientific and Research Institute of Microbiology.
