The names of many outstanding politicians, writers, poets and scientists are inseparably connected with St. Petersburg. One of them - Pavlov I.P. (1849-1936) - the Russian physiologist, the central nervous system doctrine creator, the academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the Nobel Prize laure ate. He repeatedly opposed to despotism, violence and free-thinking suppression. The monument created by sculptor Dema A. was installed in the region of University on 24 of November 2004.
