Pavlov's dogAcademician Pavlov Street 12. Scientific and Research Institute of Experimental Medicine.

 

 Trie bronze sculpture of a dog installed on the pedestal of granite and limestone is decorated with bronze bas-reliefs. The monument done by sculptor Bezpalov l.K was opened on 7 of August 1935. Tne front side inscription of the pedestal reads: "Let the dog - the man's helper and friend from prehistoric age - be sacrificed to the needs of science, but our human dignity obliges us to do it without any unnecessary tortures". There are also several inscriptions glorifying the role of a dog in scientific investigations, iriscriptions: at the four bas-reliefs in the right corner "I.Bezpalov. GU -33". "Casting workshop KNAP Leningrad."
