Plekhanov G.V.Moscovsky Prospect 26/49.

 

On 3 of May 1925 in front of Technological Institute building was opened the monument to G.V. Piekhanov - one of the first monuments appeared in the city carried out in according to V.I. Lenin plan of plastic art propaganda. The authors of the project are sculptors I.J. Gintsburg, M.J. Charlamuv. architect J.G. Gervits.
Inscription on the front side of pedestal reads: "G.V. Piekhanov. 1856 1918". The composition consists of two figures: Pbkhanov at the lecturing desk and beneath -- a worker- printer with a banner. Piekhanov - Russian Marxist, philosopher, one of the founders of RSDWP, newspaper "Iskra". Had a negative attitude towards October ievolution.
