Mayakovsky V.V. (1893-1930) - Russian poet, one of the most outstanding representatives of avant-garde art in 1910-20 years. Mayakovsky is one of reformers of poetic language. His poetic style is closely connected with fine arts, this tendency can be seen in his verses imaging. The monument done by sculptor Pienkin B.A. and architect Litvjakov V.P. was opened on 2 of December 1976 in the street bearing the name of the poet.
