In 1990 in the public square opposite the "House of political - convicts" was installed the 10 tons boulder brought from Solovetsky island. There are several inscriptions: "At that place will be installed the memorial to the victims of political repressions", "To the victims of communist terror". "To GULAG prisoners". On 4 of September 2002 the memorial place was opened. The author of the project - D. Bogomolov. The work was done on St. Petersburg SRC "Memorial" initiative.
