Kamennoostrovsky Prospect. 39-41. Public Garden

The bronze bust of A.S. Popov (1859-1906). radio inventor. Russian scientist, done by sculptors Bogolyubov V.J.. Isaev V.V. and architect Baranov N.Y. was installed near the metro station "Petrogradskaya" on 72 of March 1959.
It's not the only monument to the prominent scientist in the city: one more bust is installed at Krestovsky Island on the grounds of the institute bearing his name.
Popov A.S. is known as outstanding physicist, electrical engineer, one of the pioneers in application of electro - magnetic waves in practice.
