Quarenghi Giacomo (1744-1817) - Russian architect. Italian by birth, in Russia worked from 1780. The style he worked in - classicism. Among his numerous masterpieces can be mentioned: Pavilion "Concert Hall" and the Alexander Palace in Pushkin, the former Tsarskoye Selo (Tsar's Village); Investment Bank. Hermitage Theatre and Smolny Institute in St. Petersburg. The bronze bust (the gift of Italy) done by sculptor -Gorevoy B.E. and architect - Popov V.V. was opened in 2003 in honor of the 300 Anniversary of the city.
