Rinaldi Antonio (1710 -1794) - Russian architect. Italian by birth, worked in Russia from 1751. Among the best creations of outstanding architect - pavilion "Sledging chute" and Chinese Palace in Oranicnbaum done in rococo traditions in architecture. Such rnas terpieces as Marble Palace in St. Petersburg and Big Palace in Gatchina symbolize transition to classicism. This monument, as the previous one. is the gift of Italy to St. Petersburg on its 300-Anniversary; the bronze bust of the prominent sculptor was installed at the Manege Square. Sculptor  Gorevoy B.E., architect Popov V.V. The monument was opened in 2003.
