Rontgen W.K.Rontgen Street, 8.


The first monument to W. K. Rontgen was installed in Petrograd after the October Revolution near the building of institute bearing his name. That "temporary" monument was done of wood and plaster cast by prominent artist N. Altman. Has been kept safe only the monument's photograph, in 1928 sculptor Sinaysky V.A. and artist Altman N.I. embodied in bronze the figure of Nobel Prize winner, German physicist who revealed the waves now bearing his name.
The plaque inscription reads: "W. K. Rontgen, 1845-1923".
