 Shostackovitch D.D. (1906-1975). Russian composer. Honoured artist of USSR, the Hero of Socialistic Labour. The author of many symphonies and other musical compositions, he glorified the inner world of artist- humanist of the XX century The pedestal's front inscription reads: "Dmitry Shostackovitch". The monument to the Laureate of International Peace Prize (1954) - the work of several authors: sculptors Tchemitsky A.N.. Tchcrnilsky S.A. and architect Odnovalov S.R. - was opened on 26 of September 1997. At the plinth are listed the authors' names.
