"Hero of Socialist Labour, brigade leader of Baltic plant shipwrights Smirnov Vasily Aleksandrovich for outstanding labour achievements with a decree of Supreme Soviet Presidium on 28 of June 1978 is awarded Lenin Order and the second gold medal "Sickle and Hammer" - reads the pedestal's inscription. The monument done by sculptor Kotchukov N.S. and architect Gepner F.A. was installed in 1983.
