Tchernushevsky N.G.Moscovsky prospect. 163.

 

Tne monument to N.G. Tchernushevsky (1828-1889), Russian writer, the author of famous novel "What is to be done?", publicist and literary critic done by sculptor - Lishev V.V. and architect Jackovlev V.L. was opened on 3 of February 1947. Tchernushevsky N.G, one of narodnic movement founders, was the ideological inspirer of revolutionary movement of 1860-th. In 1962 was arrested for political activity and relations with A. Gertsen and imprisoned in St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress Was sent into exile to Eastern Siberia.
