The Hare saved from the floodStands on the bridge pillar near loannovsky Bridge leading to St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress.

 

The  statue appeared owing to the old legend. Once, being beside himself with rage. Peter I came to Hare's Island to punish workers-carpenters for badly done work. The hare came to the worker's help, having jumped on Peter's jackboot. That made Peter burst out laughing and he tempered justice with mercy. The Hare was cast of ferro-alloy its height is 58 cm. the sculptor - Petrovitchev V.
