Bas relief with a picture of Nose was opened in 1995 under the initiative of Festival "Gold Ostap" organizers. Exactly here - in Voznesensky Prospect, according to the literary critics opinion, lived the personage of "Nose" - major Kovaiev. The author of the project" -sculptor Bukchaev V.
It is known, that in Gogol's novel the nose leaves his owner for new independent life, and even makes itself a career. So happened with the monument. One day it simply disappeared. Sculptor Bukchaev had to do its copy.
