Tsiolkovsky K.E.Tsiolkovsky street, near Obvodny Canal.

 

Tsiolkovsky K.E. (1857-1935) - Russian scientist and inventor, the founder of modern cosmonavtics. In his youth he almost fully lost hearing, from 14 years old without assistance got through educational courses and in 1879 passed the exams as external student for a rank of a teacher. During his life worked as a teacher in physics and mathematics. He was the first to base the rocket use for inter-planet communication. His ideas are widely used in rocket-cosmic high technology.
The sculpture done by sculptor Beyoutian L. was opened in 2005.
