The monument to Turgenev l.S. (1818- 1883) - Russian writer, master of poetic description of nature. done by sculptors Neiman J.J.. Sveshnickov Y.D. and architect Cheibogashev G.K., was opened at Manege Square on 14 of August 2001. Turgenev i.S. is the author of well - known series of short novels "Hunter's Notes", novels "Rudin", "The Gentry's Nest". "Fathers and Children". The master of literary language and psychological analysis. Turgenev exerted a great influence upon the Russian and World literature.
