The monument, opened on 30 of May. 1997. was installed nearby Literary-memorial museum of F.M. Dostoyevsky (1821-1881) (Kuznechnuy Lane. 5). in the place historically linked with the life and ere alive work of the writer.
At the granite pedestal there is a sign "To Dostoyevsky". at the left side of the bench are listed all the monu¬ments1 authors names: sculptors Holyna L.M. and Ignat'ev RR architect Spiridonov V.L. artist (painter) Ignat'ev RA.
There is no need to mention that the life and work of Fyodor Dostoyevsky are entirely linked with our city. His literary heritage has become the world's property.
